1) 97750 for Diagnostic and Performance Testing, and
2) 97542 for Propulsion Assessment, Education and Training.
We recommend a 1-hour yearly propulsion evaluation for all self-propelling manual wheelchair clients. This is justified by the overwhelming evidence of overuse injuries in this population of individuals (50% to 80%). Propulsion training is identified as an important part of clinical practice in the PVA Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Preservation of Upper Limb Health in Individuals with Spinal Cord Injuries.
